How to Get a Chance to Meet a Celebrity
Although it seems that celebrities live in a totally different world, they are just like the rest of us. There are many opportunities to meet a celebrity. It helps if you live near Hollywood, the epicenter of where famous people live and play, though it's not uncommon to run into celebrities elsewhere in the country. They could be at the grocery store, gas station or at a local event such as a book signing.

Attend a movie premiere. Most premieres occur in New York City and Hollywood, though other cities such as Washington, D.C. have been known to host such events as well. In most cases, studios offer tickets to the general public. After a film is completed and about to open, search for websites that give away movie premiere tickets or listen to the radio for a premiere ticket giveaway.

Visit a restaurant that well known and well liked by celebrities. The Ivy in Los Angeles, for example, is a well-known eatery for people who are famous. Paparazzi as well as pedestrians are said to camp out on the sidewalk outside celebrity hot spots waiting for the right opportunity to take a picture.
Nobu is a well-known celebrity spot in New York City. Other hot spots include Mr. Chow, STK, Spago, Butter and famous nightclubs in large cities.

Go to a sporting event, such as a professional baseball, basketball or football game. Plenty of celebrities are known to catch the games at major league sport centers. The Staples Center is home to the Los Angeles Lakers and well-known for stars cheering the team along the sidelines.
Other well-known sporting centers include Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park and Wrigley Field. Also try major sporting events such as the Super Bowl, the U.S. Open, Wimbledon, NHL Playoffs and NCAA games.

Run your errands. In Los Angeles, many celebrities are spotted exercising or taking their dog for a walk in Runyon Canyon. Stars have homes around the suburbs of New York City and are often found walking the streets of Tribeca or Brooklyn.
You can also find celebrities at the gym, such as Crunch in West Hollywood. Chances are good that you will meet someone famous at Greenblatt's Deli located across the street from Crunch. The deli is considered a mega-celebrity hot spot.

If your favorite star is releasing a fragrance or clothing line, scope out premiere events on the Internet and attend. Another place to consider is the Hollywood Walk of Fame. You can find the date and time when celebrities will be there to receive their star.
