You need to monitor recordings.

Tascam's DP-02 digital Portastudio records up to eight tracks to a built-in 40 GB hard drive. Inputs include phantom power for mics and a direct guitar input. You can transfer tracks to a computer with USB 2.0, and burn disks in the included drive. When recording you will need to monitor; you do this by using outputs. The Tascam DP-02 is no longer manufactured.

Things You'll Need

  • Stereo system
  • RCA audio cable

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the RCA audio cable into the "Aux In" jack of the amplifier/speaker gear that you want to use for monitoring the recordings.

    • 2

Connect the other end of the RCA cable into the "Line Output" jack on the Tascam DP-02. Turn on the amplifier/speaker setup and select "Aux" on the amplifier as the source.

    • 3

Perform the recording on the DP-02, sometimes called tracking, and the output recorded work will be played through the amplified speakers.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you're made a final stereo master -- mixing the recordings down to stereo -- you can unplug the amplifier/speakers and plug in an analog recorder. The same output will be sent to the analog recorder instead of the monitor.
