How to Keep Water Out of Your Nose
Getting water up your nose is never pleasant. It can sometimes be painful, but most of the time it is just annoying. This happens most often when you are swimming. When you begin swimming, whether for fitness or fun, learning to put your face in the water is one of the first things to learn. As you move on to swimming and diving, you cannot progress without learning how to keep water out of your nose.

Gently blow bubbles out of your nose. Do so, while your face is in the water or while lap swimming. Any time that you get water in your nose, blow the bubbles out of the nose. Doing it slowly will allow you do to it longer with one exhalation of air.

Blow bubbles out of the nose and mouth. Do this once you are an advanced swimmer. Take a deep breath before entering the water and blow bubbles slowly out of both the nose and mouth. Continue doing so, each time that you run out of air.

Wear a nose clip. This is the most effective way to keep all water out of your nose. Place the nose clip against the bride of the nose. The wire should be at the top, facing towards your eyes. Push the lower part of the nose clip against the lower part of the nostrils. They should be shut completely.

Tips & Warnings
If you are a beginning swimmer, practice blowing bubbles out of your mouth and nose in a large bowl of water before trying it in the pool.
