How to Make a Moroccan Tea Wristlet
Tea wristlets offer women an understated, convenient place to store small things like folded money, lipstick or a small compact. They're called wristlets because they feature a loop that slips over your wrist. Women often wear them to formal events, like teas. You can make your own wristlet and spice it up with some Moroccan flair. Choose an iridescent, highly decorated fabric to give your wristlet an exotic look. You can even make these tiny purses as gifts or party favors.

1
Decide which of your chosen fabrics will be the lining for your wristlet. You may choose a plain liner fabric or a very decorated fabric for a surprise when the wristlet is opened. For the outer fabric, pick something elegant and understated. A keyhole pattern, shiny stripes or even a butterfly pattern works well.

2
Draw one 9-inch-long, 6-inch-wide rectangle on each of your fabric types. This gives you enough fabric, plus seam allowances, to make a wristlet 5 inches wide and 4 inches deep.

3
Place the liner fabric on top of the outer fabric, right sides facing each other. Stitch the fabrics together along one of the short edges.
-
4
Open the fabrics up along the stitched edges so you have one long rectangle. Fold the rectangle in half vertically and stitch it closed along the open side. Then, stitch it closed along the short side of the liner fabric, as well. You should have a long, rectangular pouch.

5
Turn your pouch inside out, so the seams are hidden. Fold the raw edges of the short side of your outer fabric inward, and stitch them closed with a needle and thread, aiming the stitches inside the crevice between the edges so they don't show.
-
6
Push the liner fabric down inside the outer fabric, poking into the corners as you go. Stitch up to five snap closures along the inner edge of the wristlet's opening. When closed, you won't be able to see the snaps.
-
7
Cut a piece of cord about 8 inches long, and fold it in half to form a loop. Stitch the ends of the loop securely together. Place the stitched ends of the loop inside the left corner of the pouch opening. Stitch the loop into place by hand.
