How to Embed a Google Form in Ning

Ning allows you to embed forms within the text or page editor feature of the network. The Text Editor toolbar is equipped with the functions that allow both you and your members to easily embed HTML, including forms, links, images, videos and widgets. However, forms must be created on Google's site before you can embed the code on your Ning network.

Instructions

  1. Add a Text Box To Your Network

    • 1

Go to your Ning network homepage and sign in (see Resources.) Click the "My Network" tool icon located to the top left of the page, which will take you to your dashboard or "My Network" page.

    • 2

Click the "Features Layout" link located under the "Settings" menu.

    • 3

Locate the "Features" column on the left, and then drag the text box from that column into one of the four spaces in the layout section.

    • 4

      Click "Save."

    Create Your Form

    • 5

Navigate to the Google Docs homepage (see Resources.) Create a Google account or sign into your existing account.

    • 6

Click the "Create New" button in the far left of the screen. Select "Form" from the drop-down menu. The form template will open.

    • 7

Add the questions and options you wish to include in your form, such as "Name" and "Email Address," for example.

    • 8

Click "Save" once you've finished adding your questions.

    • 9

Click the "More Options" button, and then select "Embed." A box will pop up with your HTML code.

    • 10

Copy the generated code. Open Notepad and paste the code there for use later.

Embed The Google Form on Your Ning Network

    • 11

Click the "Edit" button to open your Ning text or page editor. This is where you will add the code that was generated using Google Docs.

    • 12

Click the "HTML" button located to the far right of the toolbar.

    • 13

Go back to Notepad, and copy the code you pasted there earlier. Paste the HTML into the text or page editor.

    • 14

Click the "HTML" button again to return to visual mode. Your form should appear.
