How to Get the Red Dot in "Pokemon Snap"

"Pokemon Snap" on the Nintendo 64 features the player as an intrepid photographer who must take pictures of the various Pokemon on an island. To help you identify when you are taking a picture of a true Pokemon in the game, a red dot appears when you are pointing the camera at a Pokemon, confirming its authenticity.

Instructions

    • 1

Look over the scenery using the control stick.

    • 2

Locate a Pokemon and press the "Z" button on your controller to bring up your camera.

    • 3

Hold the "Z" button to focus the camera's lens on the Pokemon; if your subject is truly a Pokemon, the red dot will appear. Keep the "Z" button held down and press "A" to take a snap of the Pokemon for your collection.
