How to Add Task Categories to Mozilla Thunderbird Lightning
Mozilla Lightning is an add-on for the Mozilla Thunderbird email client that adds support for calendars and tasks. You can create and manage a list of tasks directly in Thunderbird with Lightning installed. Each task can have an optional category that helps organize the tasks. Lightning includes a variety of default categories such as business, personal, travel and vacation but you can also add your own task categories. There's no option to add categories directly from the categories menu but you can configure this in the options window.

Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the Mozilla Thunderbird window and click "Options."

Click the "Lightning" icon at the top of the options window.

Click the "Categories" tab on the Lightning pane.

Click the "Add" button under the list of categories.

Type a name for the category into the "Name" box and click "OK."
