How to Sign Up for Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run, or GOTR International, is a 501(c)(3) organization with programs offered in over 173 cities across North America. According to the organization, its volunteer-led programs designed to build self-respect and confidence in pre-teen girls "weave training for a 5K run with fun, experience-based lessons that improve self-awareness, build a collection of positive life experiences and inspire confidence through accomplishment." In 2011, the organization planned 104 5K runs across North America for pre-teen girls to participate in.

Visit the GOTR web site where they have a map of the United States. All the states that are pink have programs available there.

Click on the state in which you reside. A list of all the councils or programs in your state will appear by location in alphabetical order.

Find the council closest to you and click on the red website link in the listing. This will take you to that council's individual website.

Locate the program coordinator's name and e-mail address on the home page of the website. It is halfway down the page in the center.

Contact the program coordinator either via e-mail or phone to receive more information on the program including meeting times and what each individual program entails.
