How to Beat Judge Ghis in "Final Fantasy XII"
Judge Ghis is a boss character in "Final Fantasy XII" that can be found on the Dreadnought Leviathian in Port Launch. He's a moderately tough opponent who hits hard and has some powerful magic attacks, and he also has three Imperial Swordsman allies around him. The characters in your party should be at least level 14 or so before you take on this foe.

Equip healing gambits, such as "Self (>) Shell" and "Self (>) Protect," on each party member before battle, and make sure that all of the characters' Quickening gauges are full.

Cast "Protect" and "Shell" on all your party members right before triggering the battle so that the spells will still be activated when the battle starts.

Cast "Disable" on the three Swordsmen and cast "Blind" and "Slow" on Judge Ghis. "Disable" temporarily prevents the Swordsmen from attacking, while "Blind" and "Slow" reduce Judge Ghis' chances of landing his attacks.

Defeat the three Imperial Swordsmen first, before the "Disable" spell wears off. These enemies only have 615 hit points, so they go down pretty quickly.

Use "Mist Quickenings" on the Judge, if your party members have learned any, by selecting "Mist" from the battle menu then choosing a Quickening to perform.

Attack Judge Ghis with melee weapons, guns and bows. He does not have weaknesses to any particular magic.

Heal party members regularly and try to keep their hit points above 300 at all times to counteract Judge Ghis's constant attacks. His chained attacks can drain at least 50 health per hit and his Aero spell takes off nearly 150 health.

Repeat the pattern of attacking and healing until the Judge's hit points have dropped to 25%, at which point the battle will end.

Tips & Warnings
Judge Ghis starts the battle with 4,120 hit points and 330 magic points (MP).
Conserve MP before the battle so that you'll have enough to unleash powerful Quickening attacks. If you try to steal from Judge Ghis during the battle you have a chance of getting a Potion, Dark Mote or Jackboots.
