- Flush cutters
- Plastic mallet
- Chasing hammer
- Small anvil or metal block
- Leather pillow

Measure the wire you need for your design using a measuring tape or ruler. Cut the wire with flush cutters.

Place the leather pillow on a flat surface and place the anvil or metal block on top. The pillow absorbs the sound and impact of the flattening process. Put the wire on top of the metal surface.

Examine the wire and note areas that are bent. Use the mallet to pound out the bent areas until the wire is straight.
