How to Tow an Aliner Alite

Aliner campers use a different approach on the pop up trailer. Two solid flat sections on the top erect to form a "A" frame trailer. The entire set up of the trailer is done in under a minute. The Alite is the smallest travel trailer the company makes, weighing only 610 lb. Because of its light weight, almost any vehicle can tow the Alite.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine your vehicle's maximum towing capacity. If the towing capacity is greater than 610 lb. you can safely tow the Aliner Alite. If you are packing a significant amount of gear into the trailer, you must also take its weight into consideration.

    • 2

Reverse your vehicle up to the trailer. Have a friend guide you so that the hitch's ball is directly under the trailer's coupler.

    • 3

Lower the coupler onto the hitch by turning the hand crank on the tongue jack, found on the front of the trailer bolted to the tongue. Lock the coupler in place by lowering its latch and securing it with a hitch pin.

    • 4

Pull the lever on the side of the tongue jack and turn it so it is parallel with the trailer's tongue.

    • 5

Push the trailer's electrical harness into the vehicle's receiver.

    • 6

Connect the trailer's right chain to the left side of the hitch and the left chain to the right side. The hitches have loops on either side for the chain hooks to fasten to.

    • 7

Fasten the break away switch's wire cable to the hitch's chain connection by closing the chain snap on the end of the cable around the hitch's loop.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always test the trailer's lights are operational before every trip.

  • The vehicle's owner's manual will list its maximum towing capacity.
