How to Hide Pages in WordPress 2.9
WordPress is one of the many platforms that allows users to create blogs and Web pages with some of the most accessible usability on the market. Much of the functionality is simplified so that anyone, regardless of their level of expertise, can walk in and create a website. Such is the case with hiding pages, which is useful if you need to make certain sections of the website private. There are a variety of ways to hide pages in WordPress, ranging from plug-ins to actually privatizing or password protecting the page.

1
Hide your page using a plug-in. Some plug-ins, such as the "Exclude Pages" plug-in, allow you to include a check box on your website. (See References.) You can uncheck the "include this page in the menus" to keep users from seeing the page. This will also affect any pages linked to the page as "children" pages, so you may need to manually adjust those pages if you want to keep them accessible.

2
Adjust the parent/child setting of the page to determine if it shows up on the main website for people to click through to. Enter your Admin area for the WordPress blog in question and look on the left side of the screen for the "Pages" link. Click it, and then choose the page you want to edit. Click the "Edit" button. Move to the right side of the screen and adjust the attributes of the page through the drop-down menu to set the page as a parent or child.

Set the visibility of the page. While editing a given page, look on the top upper right of the screen for the "Publish" box and look for the Visibility section. Click on the "Edit" button and change the visibility of the page to either "Private" or "Password Protected," depending on whether you want to share the link with friends or simply password protect the page for clients, customers or subscribers.
