Directions for Hi-Yield Killzall

Mary Lougee

Killzall is a weed and grass killer concentrate for eliminating individual weeds and vines, or for preparing a garden area before planting. The active ingredient in this herbicide is 41 percent glyphosate.

Killzall kills weeds, vines, brush and tree stumps.

This product is a non-selective herbicide that enters vegetation through the leaves and works down to the roots to kill the entire weed, shrub or plant. When Hi-Yield Killzall contacts soil, it breaks down into a natural mineral and will not affect untreated plants.

Tip

Use this product in temperatures of 60 degrees F or above for best results. Do not mow the lawn or disturb any treated areas for one week prior to and after the application. Wash off any vegetation that is accidentally sprayed with water immediately to save the plants.

Warning

Wash thoroughly with water and soap after handling this product. Do not allow children or pets to contact treated areas. Control overspray or spray carried by the wind so it does not come in contact with any food or water sources.

  1. Put on a long-sleeved shirt, gloves and pants or jeans to protect your skin from the pesticide.

  2. Open the lid on a garden sprayer. Measure 3 tbsp. Killzall into the sprayer for general weed control, or 5 tbsp. for tough weed or brush control, for each gallon of water. Fill the sprayer with water from the garden hose. Swirl the sprayer to mix the product into the water.

  3. Replace the lid and pump up the sprayer.

  4. Spray foliage of weeds, vines and grasses with the solution until they are thoroughly coated. Hold a piece of cardboard next to flowers or plants to protect them from the spray while spraying weeds in close proximity.

  5. Spray a garden area before planting to remove weeds. Wait one day to seed or transplant ornamental plants or flowers, and three days for most vegetables. Wait 30 days to transplant tomatoes, and seven days to seed or transplant small fruits and berries into the area you have sprayed.

  6. Kill stumps by applying the undiluted product into several holes in a stump at ground level.
