How to Cook Spaghetti With Red Wine
Cooking spaghetti with a meat or pasta sauce is something that most people are familiar with, but it isn't entirely unique or adventurous. Although you may enjoy it with a glass of red wine, you might not have ever thought to actually cook the noodles in the wine itself unless you've had it in a restaurant, seen it on television or had a friend cook it for you. This technique may sound unorthodox, but it adds a unique flavor twist that makes it worth learning how to cook and try on your own. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Fill a large saucepan with water and place it on your stove to boil.
-
2
Chop up 2 to 4 cloves of garlic while you are waiting for the water to boil. Set aside.
-
-
3
Add 1 lb. of spaghetti to the boiling water. Set a kitchen timer for 3 to 4 minutes and allow the noodles to cook until they just begin to soften, but are not thoroughly cooked.
-
4
Drain the noodles into a colander over your sink. After it is no longer dripping, set it aside.
-
5
Pour 3 cups of red wine and 1 teaspoon of sugar into the empty pot. Stir to mix the two together and turn on the burner to medium-high to bring it to a boil.
-
6
Lower the temperature to medium or medium-low and add the cooked spaghetti noodles to the wine. Use a pair of tongs to separate and stir the noodles so that the wine may thoroughly coat and saturate each noodle.
-
7
Set a timer for 5 to 6 minutes and leave the noodles to simmer in the wine.
-
8
Place a large skillet on another burner on the stove and add 1/4 cup of olive oil. Turn the burner on to medium and heat up the oil.
-
9
Add the chopped garlic to the oil and saute until it is tender.
-
10
Remove the spaghetti from the saucepan and place it in the skillet with the garlic and olive oil. Mix it thoroughly to combine before serving.
