How to Block Someone From Commenting on Your Facebook Without Deleting Them as a Friend thumbnail
CEO Mark Zuckerberg discusses Facebook privacy controls.

Facebook gives users control over their privacy settings, which provides a way you can block certain friends from commenting on your status updates, photos and Wall posts without deleting them as friends. You can achieve this by customizing the privacy settings; one setting in particular restricts commenting. Restricted users can still see your Facebook content but won't be able to comment on the items.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign into your Facebook account by typing your email and password. Click the "Login" button to enter the social networking site.

    • 2

Click the "Account" option from Facebook's top navigation bar. Select "Privacy Settings" from the drop-down menu.

    • 3

Click the "Customize settings" link at the bottom of the "Sharing on Facebook" section.

    • 4

Go to the "Things others share" section and locate the "Permission to comment on your posts" option. Click the drop-down menu next to that item and select "Customize."

    • 5

Type the Facebook user's name in the "These people" text box under the "Hide this from" section. You can type more than one name. Click the "Save Setting" button when finished. Facebook automatically restricts that friend from commenting on posts, photos and Wall items.
