How to Make an Address File Box

Make an address file box in the same way you would make a recipe file box.

If you are looking for a charming way to organize your addresses, then consider transforming an old recipe box into an address file. You also can purchase a new recipe box or an index card box to make your address file. Place the box with the address cards inside on your desk where you can access it easily.

Things You'll Need

• Recipe box
• Paint pen
• Index cards/Recipe cards
• Card dividers
• Pen

Instructions

1. Purchase a recipe box or an index card box. Write "Addresses" on the sides or top of the box with a paint pen of your choice.

2. Purchase index cards or recipe cards that fit inside the box. On each card, write the full name, the full address, the phone number and the email address of your friends and family members. There should be one card per person.

3. Place the cards upright in your recipe box or index card box, and place the box on your desk.

4. Slip card dividers in between alphabetically ordered cards. Each divider can stand for a different letter of the alphabet. You can write the letters on the divider tabs with a paint pen.
