How to Anoint a Candle Jar
Anointing spiritual tools prepares them for use in Wiccan and pagan rituals. To anoint a tool, practitioners commonly use oil. Practitioners can choose any anointing oil that suits their personal taste. Anointed candle jars are often used in rituals. A candle jar is made by filling a jar with candle wax; this is an excellent tool, as you don't have to worry that the candle will fall out. When anointing a candle jar, the same method is used as for anointing a candle. During anointing, practitioners can dedicate the candle jar to a specific spell or ritual.

1
Pour some anointing oil into a small dish.
-
2
Hold the candle jar upside-down in your non-dominant hand. If you are right-handed, hold the candle in your left hand. If you are left-handed, hold it in your right hand.
-
-
3
Dip the fingers of your dominant hand into the anointing oil. Use a very small amount to avoid having the candle jar slip out of your hand. You will only need to coat the jar with a light film of oil.
-
4
Start halfway down the outside of the candle jar. Apply the oil around the candle jar in an upward, counter-clockwise direction, working the oil toward the bottom of the jar.
-
5
Turn the candle jar upright.
-
6
Dab your fingers into the oil again if more is needed. Start again from the halfway point of the candle jar. The candle jar is now facing right side up. Apply the oil in an upward, clockwise direction, toward the wick end, which is now facing up.
-
7
Touch the wick gently with your oiled fingertip. Call on your deities. Announce what the candle jar is being dedicated to do. If it is being used to cast, then name the spell. If it is for illumination, dedicate it as such.
