How to Ask an Officer for a Date thumbnail
If you're going to ask a cop for a date, pick the right time to ask.

Police officers can be intimidating while they're in a professional setting. During off-duty hours though, they do have social lives. They date, they marry. If one of these civil servants has caught your eye, you need to know that it is alright to ask him or her out on a date. But know that it is extremely important to do this at an appropriate time. Let's face it, many women feel there's nothing like a man in a uniform.

Instructions

Find out if the officer is married. You can look for a wedding ring, but verify that he is not married by asking vague questions, such as "Does your wife get upset when you have to stay late for calls?". This is important, since many officers do not wear wedding rings to work so that they won't endanger their families.

Choose a time when the officer is not responding to a call or is not tied up with other police business. Find a time when he is separated from any other officers. You can contact him once the call is over. You might want to leave a message at the police station. Wait for him to return the call. Do not leave multiple messages or you will look desperate.

Be confident and straightforward when the opportunity arrives. Ask the officer if he would like to join you for dinner or a cup of coffee, and name a specific day or time. Respect his answer, whether it is yes or no.
