How to Cook Cow's Heart
Beef heart isn't the typical grocery store find, but it can definitely add a lot to a meal if cooked properly. Since beef heart is so tough, it's often suggested to cook the heart using moist heat. Things You'll Need
- Sliced beef heart
- Large saucepan
- Plate lined with paper towels
- 12 inch skillet
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper

Place the sliced beef heart into a saucepan and add enough water to cover the heart plus 1 inch. Bring the water to a boil.

Reduce the water and beef heart to a simmer and allow to cook for 3 hours. Lift the sliced beef heart from the pot and place on a plate lined with paper towels.

Heat up 2 tbsp. olive oil in a 12 inch skillet over medium high heat. Season the hot beef heart slices with salt and pepper before tranfering to the hot pan.

Sear the beef heart slices for two minutes, then turn over and sear for another minute.

Remove the beef heart from the pan and allow it to rest for a few minutes.
