How to Change a RAR to ISO

ISO is a virtual CD backup file. It is used to create electronic image copies of a real-life CD or DVD. If you have an ISO file that is stored inside of a RAR, you won't be able to access the Virtual CD and play the ISO on your computer until you have opened the RAR and converted it back to ISO. You can open RAR files using some archive software available online.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and install Winzip (see Resources). Double-click the RAR file that has the ISO you want. Winzip activates and creates a box that shows the ISO inside. Click and drag the ISO to your computer's desktop. The file will convert back to ISO and appear on your desktop. WinZIP is free to use on a trial basis.

Download and install WinRAR (see Resources). Click "Start," then select the "My Downloads" folder, or the alternative folder where you stored your RAR. Right-click the RAR file and select the "Extract here" option. The RAR then converts to ISO and the ISO file appears in the same folder.
