How to View Your Own Webcam on a Mac

All Apple Macintosh computers, except for the Mac Mini and Mac Pro, feature built-in webcams. Webcams are typically used to video calls over the Internet as well as taking personal pictures. Mac OS X includes a program called "Photo Booth" that uses the webcam to take pictures and add different effects to the camera. You can view your own webcam on a Mac by using the included Photo Booth program.

      Click "Applications" in the left column.

      Double-click "Photo Booth." The Mac's internal webcam is automatically initialized and displayed in the Photo Booth window. Click the camera icon to take a picture.
