How to Delete a Photo That You've Been Tagged in on Facebook thumbnail
Remove your tag from a photo to delete it from your profile.

Adding photos is one of the most popular features on Facebook, allowing your friends to view and comment on your recent activities. The feature also lets people create virtual tags on each photo, labeling people in each shot. When tagged, the photo appears among your pictures. With any friend having the power to upload and tag shots of you, you are bound to run into a less than flattering photo. Remove the tag to prevent the photo from showing up on your profile.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign in to Facebook and click the "Profile" link at the top-right corner of the website. Your profile opens.

    • 2

Click "Photos" on the left side. Your photos appear.

    • 3

Click the photo for which you want to remove the tag.

    • 4

Click the "Remove Tag" link below the photo next to your name. The tag disappears. If the photo belongs to one of your friends, the photo disappears from your profile.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you uploaded the photo, you can click the "Delete This Photo" link at the bottom-left corner to completely remove the photo from Facebook.
