How to Kill a Strider
Striders are one of the most powerful enemies you can encounter in the 2004 first-person shooter video-game "Half Life 2." A strider is a robotic tank balanced on top of three long legs, standing around 50 feet tall, armed with a laser turret. There actually are only a few occasions in the game where it's possible to kill a strider. You will need a plentiful supply of rocket launcher ammunition and somewhere to take cover from that laser cannon.

Find a rocket launcher ammunition crate. This is the only way you will be able to kill a strider, as it takes more ammo than you can carry.

Fill up your rocket launcher, and take cover from the strider's attacks.

While the strider pauses to re-load, pop out from cover and shoot it with the rocket launcher.

Get back under cover while the strider resumes its attack.

Repeat steps three and four twice, then run back to the ammo crate to refill your rocket launcher.

Repeat steps three and four another three times, and the strider will explode.

Tips & Warnings
You can only kill a strider if there's an ammo crate in the vicinity. If there isn't one, just run for it. Make every shot count. It takes six shots to kill a strider, and the rocket launcher only holds three rockets. If you miss a shot, you're going to have to make an extra trip to the ammo crate.
