How to Power Off My Kindle 2

Some of the convenient aspects of the Kindle 2 are the simple-to-use controls. Many of these are clearly labeled, making them even easier to figure out. However, one function is somewhat hidden: how to power off your Kindle 2. Generally, you keep your Kindle 2 into power-saver sleep mode, but if you are on an airplane or need to reset your Kindle, you need to be able to power the unit off.

Instructions

1. Slide the power bar at the top of the Kindle 2 to the right.

2. Hold the switch in this position until the screen goes blank; this usually takes about four seconds.

3. Release the power switch. Your Kindle 2 is powered off.
