How to Get Your Home Button Back on the Internet Screen

The "Home" button in an Internet browser links back to your home page. Rather than typing in the home page's URL, you can simply click the "Home" button and the page will appear. The "Home" button for Internet Explorer 9 is static, but the button for both Mozilla Firefox 4 and Google Chrome may not appear, depending on your settings. Fortunately, if you cannot see the "Home" button, a quick click can change that.

  • Open your Firefox browser.

  • Right-click the empty space next to the opened tab.

  • Click "Navigation Toolbar." The navigation bar will appear, along with the "Home" icon.

Google Chrome

  • Start the Chrome browser.

  • Open the "Options" screen by clicking the "Wrench" button and selecting it on the drop-down menu.

  • Click the check box next to "Show home button." A check mark will appear. Exit the "Options" screen. Look to the right of the "Refresh" button and you should see the "Home" icon.
