How to Upload Pictures From myTouch Slide to a Computer

Save

The T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide was released in July 2011 and runs the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread mobile operating system. Your Windows 7 or 8 operating system can install the drivers for the phone automatically when you connect it to the PC. The phone is listed as an external storage device in File Explorer, so you just need to copy the photos to the clipboard and then paste them in a folder on your hard drive. If you copy the pictures instead of cutting them, you won't lose them in case something goes wrong.

Transferring Pictures to the Computer

  • Connect the myTouch Slide 4G to the PC using the USB cable that was shipped with the phone. The Connect to PC screen appears on the phone. Tap "Disk drive" to connect the myTouch to the PC as a storage device. Windows usually installs the appropriate drivers in less than a minute and lists the phone as an external storage device in File Explorer. To launch File Explorer, press "Windows-X" and select it from the Power User menu. Open the drive assigned by Windows to the phone and then open the "DCIM" folder. Select the pictures and press "Ctrl-C" to copy them to the clipboard. Open a folder on your hard drive and press "Ctrl-V" to paste the pictures from the clipboard into the folder.

Potential Problems

  • If Windows does not detect the phone after you connect it to the computer, the USB cable might be faulty. Replace it and try again. If the problem persists, the USB port on the computer may be faulty; try a different port. If Windows still doesn't detect the phone, restart the phone and the computer and try again. Some users managed to fix this problem by installing the Tethering USB driver. Open the "T-Mobile MyTouch 4G News & Download" page (link in Resources), click the "Download" button and save the file on your hard disk. Install the USB driver and connect the phone to the PC.
