How to Do an Online Wire on HSBC
The HSBC Bank provides banking services to governments, individuals and corporations. The bank offers personal financial services, corporate investment banking as well as private and commercial banking. The bank offers products and services such as checking and savings accounts, mortgage loans, personal loans, CDs and credit card accounts. You can access your account information through online banking, which allows you to make loan and bill payments, transfer funds between HSBC accounts and make wire transfers. A wire transfer is a fast way to send funds from your HSBC accounts to another financial institution, person or business.

Visit the HSBC online banking website at us.hsbc.com. Locate and click the "HSBC Online" tab at the far right side of the page. Click "Log On" on the left to access your personal accounts. If visiting the site for the first time, click "Sign Up" to register for free online account access.

To register, enter your Social Security number in the "Social Security Number" box at the top of the page. Choose option 1 to enter your HSBC card number and PIN or option 2 to enter your HSBC account number and account type. Click "Continue" to complete the registration for online banking and login to complete your wire transfer.

Select "Transfers" and then click "Wire Transfers." Complete the online "Wire Transfer Request Form" for a one-time electronic transfer from your eligible HSBC account.

Click the "Add Accounts" tab and store the recipient's banking information for future reference. Enter the name of the recipient's financial institution, the 10-digit bank routing number and the account number.

Click "Transfer Funds", select your HSBC account from the drop down menu next to the "From" field and select the recipient's account from the drop down menu next to the "To" field. Select the payment type and click "Submit" to complete the transfer request.

Wait for an HSBC representative to call you within 60 minutes at the phone number on file to verify your request, if you submit your request prior to 3:00 p.m. ET on a business day. Requests submitted after 3:00 p.m. or on a non-business day are reviewed on the next business day between 8 a.m. and 12 noon ET and an HSBC representative will call you at the phone number on file to confirm your request.

Tips & Warnings
If a representative is unable to reach you after two attempts for two or more business days, HSBC will cancel your request on the third business day.
