How to Add 11-by-17 Paper Size to Excel

Save

The Microsoft Excel spreadsheet program supports formatting a worksheet so that it can print at any page size that is supported by an installed printer. If you have a printer that supports 11-by-17 inch paper yet you can't select the 11-by-17 inch page size in Excel, then you must download and install the latest version of your printer's device drivers. Once the drivers are installed, then you can change the page size to 11 by 17 inches in the Excel page layout tab.

  • Navigate to your printer manufacturer's website and click the link for "Downloads," "Software" or "Drivers". If none of those links are available, then look for a link to "Support."

  • Type your model of printer in a search box, and then locate your printer in the search results. Click the link to your printer's device drivers.

  • Download the latest device drivers for your printer. Run the downloaded installation program and follow the on-screen prompts to install the printer drivers to your computer.

  • Run the Microsoft Office application.

  • Click the "Page Layout" tab. Click the "Size" button.

  • Click "11 x 17" in the drop down menu to convert your document to that paper size. The 11-by-17 inch paper is sometimes also known as "A3" or "ledger-size paper." The exact nomenclature will vary by printer.
