How to Make All Yahoo! Mail Read
Yahoo! Mail allows you to select all emails and mark them as "read," but there is a limit to that feature: You can only select all mail on the current page. If you have more mail than will fit on a single page, there is no way to select them all at once. This means you will have to mark the messages read in blocks at a time. However, to minimize this additional effort, Yahoo! allows you to list up to 500 emails per page. Furthermore, you can filter the results to display only unread messages.
Instructions
-
Viewing 500 Messages per Screen
-
1
Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
-
2
Click "Options" at the top-right of the window and click "Mail Options" in the drop-down menu. Click "Continue" if you see a warning window stating you will lose any open chat conversations.
-
-
3
Click the drop-down menu next to "Messages/results per page" in the "General" pane on the right and select "Show 500 messages/results on each page."
-
4
Click "Save Changes" at the top of the pane.
-
5
Click "Back to Mail" at the top of the left-pane to return to Yahoo! Mail.
Displaying Only Unread Messages
-
6
Click the top "Mail Search" button, without entering any keywords in the search field, to access advanced search features.
-
7
Enter your email address in the text box next to "Recipient." Yahoo! requires something to search, so entering your email address, or just "yahoo.com," finds all of your messages.
-
8
Check "Search" next to "Options."
-
9
Click the drop-down menu next to "Search" and select "Only Unread Messages."
-
10
Click "Mail Search" at the bottom of the page to display all unread messages.
Marking All Read
-
11
Click the top-left check box, located just below the action buttons. This selects all mail on the page.
-
12
Click the "Mark" drop-down menu and select "Mark as Read" to mark them all read.
-
13
Click "Next" and repeat the marking procedure to mark those emails read.
-
14
Continue until all emails are marked. By displaying 500 messages at a time, and limiting the results to only unread messages, this should not take long, even with large mail boxes.
