How to Make Animated "Team Fortress 2" Sprays
"Team Fortress 2" is a first-person shooter for the Xbox 360 and PC. To help players leave their mark, players can spray-paint a logo or picture onto a wall. Owners of the PC version of the game can design their own sprays, including making the spray animated. Creating the image will require some degree of experience with photo-editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop.
Instructions

Creating The Animated Spray
-
1
Open the photo-editing software of your choice. Programs like Adobe Photoshop are sophisticated and expensive, but Adobe will commonly offer a 30-day free trail for those who want to try out the software.
-
2
Create a blank canvas that is 128 by 128 pixels wide. To do this in Photoshop, select "New File" from the "File" menu. You will be able to select the dimensions of the file --- also known as the canvas --- in the window that appears.
-
-
3
Create the images for your spray. You can use your own images or create entirely new ones with the "Pencil" or other drawing tools. You will need at least two images to create an animated spray. There is no limit to how many you can have, but your cumulative file size cannot exceed 120KB, so it will be difficult to fit more than five images into your animated spray.
-
4
Save the images in the .TGA format.
-
5
Download and install the file converter program VTFLib (see References).
-
6
Open VTFLib.
-
7
Click the "Import" option from the "File" menu on the top toolbar. A selection window will appear.
-
8
Hold "Control" as you click on the images you've created. Once you've selected all the images, click "OK" to load the files.
-
9
Order the images in the desired sequence by clicking and dragging the images.
-
10
Click "OK" to save the animated spray. Save the spray in the .VTF format.
Selecting The Animated Spray
-
11
Open "Team Fortress 2" from the "Steam" menu.
-
12
Click "Multiplayer" from the "Options" menu.
-
13
Click "Import Spray" to open a selection window.
-
14
Click on your animated spray and click "OK." You may now use the animated spray in "Team Fortress 2" by pressing the spray button, which is "T" by default.
