How to Convert the Date to Age in Excel

Excel allows you to perform complex calculations, including differences between two dates. To calculate someone's age, put his birth date in one cell, today's date in another and subtract the birth date from today's date. Excel performs all of the conversions for you and displays the difference in days. If you want to get the age in years, just divide the total number of days by the amount of days in a year.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open Excel on your computer. Excel starts a new spreadsheet once open.

    • 2

      Type "=TODAY()" into cell A1.

    • 3

      Type the person's birth date in cell A2. Excel corrects the format for you.

    • 4

      Type "=INT((A1-A2)/365.25)" in cell A3. You'll get the age of the person on this cell.
