How Do You Program Your Phone Number Into a Sharp UX-3551 Fax Machine?

The Sharp UX-355l fax machine can be used for making phone calls as well as sending and receiving faxes. Senders of faxes are legally required to include their name and fax number on each fax they send, as well as the date. The Sharp UX-355l fax machine automatically inserts this information on each fax, but requires the fax number and name to be entered prior to first use. Not knowing how to perform this procedure will prevent users from being able to send faxes.

Instructions

1. Press the "Function" key and the number "3" on the fax machine. The term "Entry Mode" should be visible on the display.

2. Push the "#" key twice. The display should now say "Own Number Set."

3. Tap the "Start Memory" button and enter your fax number. Press the "Start Memory" button again to program the number into the fax machine's memory. The display will now say "Enter Your Name."

4. Add your name to the fax machine's memory bank, using the manufacturer's numerical letter guidelines.

5. Push the "Start Memory" button when completed, to store your name. Tap the "Stop" key to return to the date/time display.

Tips & Warnings

• If you make a mistake when entering your name or number, pressing the "Speed Dial" key allows you to erase it.
