Insert the envelope into your printer tray with the appropriate side up.

Writing the address information on an envelope may look good if you have smooth handwriting. However, a typed address that is printed on the envelope looks neater and more professional. You can print addresses and return information on the envelope using a free Microsoft Word template. While setting the template up is an easy task involving only a few steps, it may be a little challenging to insert the envelope into your home printer's paper tray.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a new Microsoft Word document by clicking the Word icon on your desktop or on your "Start" menu.

    • 2

Click the "Office Button," followed by the "New" button. Scroll down the list of options, and double-click "Envelopes." Select an envelope template that you like, and double-click the icon. It will download into your document.

    • 3

Double-click the text boxes on the envelope template. Replace the text with the mail recipient's address and your return address.

    • 4

Position the envelope on the tray in accordance with your printer's requirements. There may be an envelope icon showing how the envelope should be laid printed somewhere on the tray.

    • 5

Press "Control" and "P." Click "OK" to print.
