How to Take a Nokia Phone off of T9

T9, which stands for "Text on nine keys," is a predictive text technology for mobile phones. The predictive input allows you to enter any letter with a single key press on your Nokia mobile device. The T9 makes typing text much easier, faster and more efficient. T9 text predictive technology is in-built in the dictionary of the handset, but you can deactivate it at any time.

Instructions

    • 1

Switch on your Nokia phone. Access and open the Menu screen and click "Messaging."

    • 2

Select "New Message" from the Messaging menu and then select "Text Message."

    • 3

Select "Options." Select "Deactivate Predictive Text" or a comparable option to turn off the T9.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also take off the T9 by pressing the "Shift" key on the keypad. The "Shift" key is the same key as the "#" key on the Nokia keypad.
