How to Create a Border Around Words in Gimp
Creating advertising documents for your business requires that you give attention to every detail. This includes making sure that the text you use is as impressive and eye-catching as possible. One way to do this is to jazz the text up with a colored border or outline. You can easily do that with the freeware application GIMP.

Start the GIMP application. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." Locate and click on the file you want to add text to.

Select the "Text" tool from the toolbar. In the tool options, choose the font style and size you want.

Type your text onto the canvas where you want it. Click "Close" to close the dialog.

Go to the "Layers" panel and right-click on the text layer. From the options choose "Text to Selection."

Change the "Foreground" color in the toolbar to what you want for the border or outline. Select "Edit" from the menu and choose "Stroke Selection." Set the pixel width you want and click "Stroke." Save your work.
