How Can I Make a Book Report on the Book "Flowers for Algernon"?
Many times during the course of going to school, you will be asked to write a book report. This serves several different purposes. First of all, it lets the teacher know that you have read the book. It also gives you a chance to develop thinking skills as you analyze the book, and writing skills as you put your thoughts on paper. "Flowers for Algernon" is a classic book that began as a short story. It has a number of themes you can discuss, as well as some very interesting characters.

1
Read the book "Flowers for Algernon" all the way through before you try to write anything about it. It will help you to read the book twice. Read it straight through the first time, and read it a second time with the points you want to write about in mind.
-
2
Review the specifics of the things your teacher expects you to include in the book report. Make a note of any important things so you don't overlook them as you begin writing.
-
-
3
Write down all essential information at the beginning of your book report. You should include the title of the book, "Flowers for Algernon," the author's name -- Daniel Keyes -- your name and any other information you have been asked to include, such as the publisher's name or date of publication.
-
4
Discuss the important points of the book. Describe who Algernon is and what is important about him. Describe the other characters in the book as well; write about who they are and what part each plays in the action of the book.
-
5
Give a brief summary of the plot, and include the important topics from the book in your report. Faith and friendship are two important themes. What is necessary for happiness is also a main theme. Explain how the author shows these to the reader. Add anything else you feel is important about the book.
-
6
Complete your report with a description of what happens to Algernon at the end, and what becomes of Charlie. Add your thoughts about whether what was done to Charlie was right or wrong, and why.

Tips & Warnings
Highlight important passages in the book as you read it the second time, to help you quickly find important ideas and quotes when you are ready to write your report.
Don't copy anyone else's work or use a prepared book report from the Internet or another source. Not only is this unethical and illegal, you end up cheating yourself and lose the opportunity to learn from the book.
