How to Make iTunes Read ID3 Tags, but Not ID2
If you import a song with ID2 metadata tags into Apple's iTunes media software, the information contained in the metadata may not display properly. Instead of letters you may see various random symbols or tiny squares. This is because iTunes is designed to read ID3 tags, not ID2 tags. Open iTunes. Click "Music" and highlight the name of the song in your music library that is currently trying to display ID2 tags.

Click the "Advanced" menu at the top of the window.

Select "Convert ID3 Tags." Select the "ID3" option from the menu. Click "OK." Repeat this process for any other song or album you want to convert.
