How to Wire a Kicker S15L5

Kicker's L5 subwoofers are distinguished by their square shape and strong output. Adding a 15-inch L5 subwoofer to your system is an excellent way to boost the sound power of your car audio system, and with a few simple materials and tools you can have your sub pounding in no time.

Instructions

      Loosen the speaker output terminals on the end panel of your car amplifier with a screwdriver. There are two, marked "+" and "-."

      Pull apart the two leads on the end of a roll of speaker wire. Remove 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of each of the leads with a set of wire strippers. Identify the positive lead of the speaker wire by a series of "+" signs on the jacket.

      Slide the end of the positive speaker wire lead into the "+" speaker terminal on the amp and tighten the screw. Put the other lead into the "-" terminal and tighten the screw.

      Roll out the speaker wire until it reaches the subwoofer. Cut the wire to length and prepare the two speaker wire leads as you did on the other end.

      Push the red terminal post of the subwoofer in until a hole appears. Insert the bare end of the positive speaker wire lead into the hole and release the terminal. Insert the other lead into the black terminal post.
