      Remove the cap from the waterbed mattress and insert a garden hose. Siphon the water from the waterbed mattress though a bedroom window. As the mattress empties, pull up on the bladder to force the water to the drain hose. This will help you remove as much water as possible

      Place the cap back onto the waterbed mattress, fold the bladder up and remove it from the bed frame.

      Fold the sides of the mattress liner down and then fold up the liner. Place it off to the side.

      Pull the cord attached to the waterbed heater up through the access hole in the waterbed frame and remove the heater from the bed.

      Measure the length and the width of the bed frame to determine the size mattress you need. The mattress frame should adhere to standard mattress sizes. Select a box spring and mattress that will fit inside the box frame.

      Place the box frame and mattress into the bed frame. The base of the frame is solid and will hold the box spring and mattress nicely.
