How to Amend an Unemployment Application Claim in Florida

The Florida unemployment application process is automated through the Agency for Workforce Innovation's (AWI) website and telephone systems. The system asks a question on the application and you input your answer using your computer keyboard or phone keypad. If you make a mistake, you have the opportunity to amend your answers before you submit the claim. If you've already submitted the claim, you must contact the AWI call center to have an agent amend the application.

Instructions

    • 1

Call the AWI's claims line (1-800-204-2418).

    • 2

Select your language option. Select the fourth option to speak to a claims agent.

    • 3

Verify your personal information with the claims agent so she can look up your claim. Explain the information you need amended so the agent can make the changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • This service through the AWI claims line is only available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • Make the amendment as soon as possible. False information on your unemployment application can result in a denial and even a fraud determination depending on the information in question.
