Nylon is a synthetic fabric used in the manufacturing of clothes, apparel, upholstery and luggage. Nylon is popular because it dries quickly and doesn't absorb moisture. A person can wash nylon in a washing machine with warm water and laundry detergent. But over time, white nylon can yellow with age. To brighten or whiten nylon fabric, treat it separately using items already in the average kitchen.
Step 1
Pour on1/2 cup lemon juice into a spray bottle.

Spray all the yellowed areas of the nylon fabric completely. Do not add water to the lemon juice.
Step 3
Hang the nylon fabric outside on a clothesline. You could also place a towel on an outdoor table and put the nylon fabric upon it. Sunlight interacts with the citric acid in the lemon juice to create a bleaching effect.
Step 4
Leave the nylon fabric in the sun for 30 minutes to three hours, depending on the thickness of the fabric. Periodically check the fabric to see if the yellowing is gone.
Step 5
Repeat Steps 2 to 4 until all yellowing is gone.
Step 6
Wash the nylon fabric as usual once the yellowing is gone. This removes the lemon juice from the fabric.
