How to Enable Genius Playlists on Your iPod iTouch

Enable the Genius feature to automatically generate a specific playlist.

Enabling the Genius feature on your iPod touch lets you create a playlist of songs loaded on your device that share the characteristics of a specific song on your device. You can create a Genius playlist directly on your device, or you can create Genius playlists in iTunes and then sync them to your device. You must enable Genius functionality using iTunes.

Instructions

1. Connect your iPod touch to the computer using the USB cable that came with the device.

2. Open iTunes.

3. Click "Genius" on the left side of the iTunes program window beneath "Genius."

4. Click "Turn On Genius" on the right side of the program window.

5. Enter your Apple ID username and password and then click "Continue."

6. Click to check the box to accept the terms and conditions of the Apple privacy policy and then click "Continue." The Genius program begins collecting data about your iTunes library.
