How to Invite Others to Gmail

When Gmail first launched, it was invitation-only, which meant the only way you could get a Gmail account was to have a friend invite you. Gmail is now publicly open, but the ability to invite people persists. This option is randomly distributed, so some accounts may not be able to invite others right away, but the option should appear in your Gmail account at some point.

  1. Sending Single Invitation

    • 1

      Log into your Gmail account.

    • 2

Enter the person's email address in the left-hand field, labeled "Give Gmail to:" under the "Invite a friend" section.

    • 3

Click "Send Invite." The number of invitations you have left is displayed to the right of this button.

    Sending Multiple Invitations
