Instructions

    • 1

Measure the opening where the ramp will lie. Run a tape measure across the length and the width of the opening and record both measurements.

    • 2

Lay the sheet of 3/4-inch plywood on a flat surface. This is the best width to use because it is thick and can withstand weight. Run a tape measure along the plywood and mark the first cut location with a pencil. Line up a T-square at the cut location and draw a straight line with a pencil down the entire board.

    • 3

Line up the blade of the circular saw with the mark on the plywood. Hold down the plywood with your non-dominant hand and turn on the circular saw. Cut straight along the line. Follow carefully straight across the board.

    • 4

Follow the line and guide on the circular saw until the board is cut into two pieces. Measure the cut piece and verify the first cut was made properly. Measure and mark the board for the second cut. Repeat the process for the next cut. Set the board into the proper ramp location.

    • 5

Walk along the board and check to see that it is strong enough to support your weight and any other weight it will need to hold.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always wear safety goggles when working with a circular saw. This will help protect your eyes from flying pieces of wood.
