How to Find Somebody on Twitter
Twitter is an online service that allows users to communicate by sending short messages up to 140 characters in length. Users can "follow" other users to see the other users' posts on their home page and can use a direct messaging system to send messages directly to their followers. Before a user can follow someone, however, he must find that person's Twitter account. Twitter provides two ways to locate specific users on their website.

Log in to your Twitter account. Locate the "Search" box at the top of the Twitter home page.

Type the name of the individual you wish to find into the search field and press the "Enter" key to begin your search. A new page will load displaying your search results.

Click the "People" tab on the search results page. Scroll through the results to find the Twitter profile of the specific person you're searching for.

Select the username of a specific Twitter user to get a better view of her profile. Click the "Follow" button to begin following her on Twitter.
Email Contacts

Log in to your Twitter account. Locate the "Who to Follow" recommendations list on the right side of your Twitter home page.

Click the "Find Friends" link beneath the "Who to Follow" list. A new page will open with buttons representing the email providers you can use to search for contacts.

Click the provider you wish to perform a contact search with. A new window will open which asks you to sign in to your email account; enter your email address and password, then submit the information so that Twitter can search your email contact list.

Review the list of Twitter accounts that match the email addresses of your contacts. Click "Follow" to begin following any of the individuals in the list.
