How to Send Texts to the Philippines From the U.S.

Sending a text message to Singapore is not that different than sending a text message to a local number. In addition to dialing the area code and local number, you also need to dial an exit code and country code. The exit code informs the carrier's system that the text message goes to an international number. The country code informs the system which country the to send it to.

Instructions

1. Compose a text message on your phone.

2. Type "011" in the "To:" field.

3. Type "65," the country code for Singapore.

4. Enter the eight-digit local Singapore phone number.

5. Press or tap the "Send" option to send the message.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also send text messages to Singapore numbers using free online text messaging services.

• International text messaging is not covered under most unlimited texting plans. Your carrier will charge you for sending and receiving text messages from international numbers.
