Keep your composure when you get fired.

After you get fired from a job, it may seem like the end of the world. You don't have any other jobs lined up and you don't know what you will do for money. While you may feel like crying and begging your boss for your job back, it is important to keep your composure. Being emotional will not get you your job back and may cause you to feel more upset.

Instructions

Recognize that there are other job opportunities out there. Just because you lost one job doesn't mean that you can't be successful in another. Instead of panicking, think about how you will begin sending resumes immediately and won't stop until you find another job. Do not feel hesitant about listing your achievements from your recent job when you update your resume.

Ask to be excused for a minute or two. Stepping out of the room can help you fully grasp the situation and calm yourself. Go into the hallway, take a deep breathe and drink some water.

Find out about severance packages, continuing insurance and the reason why you were fired. Refrain from getting angry and yelling at your boss. After you finish asking your questions, tell him that it was nice working with him and walk out of the room.
