How to Edit PDF Files in Acrobat 8
Adobe Acrobat is the industry standard for Portable Document Format editing applications, and Adobe Acrobat 8 is an older version of the program. Adobe Systems was the company who first introduced the platform independent PDF document format and Adobe Acrobat is still the premier PDF editing program on the market. To edit text in a PDF file in Adobe Acrobat 8, use the "Touch Up Text" tool in the Advanced Editing options in the Acrobat Tools.

Right-click on the PDF document to edit and select "Open With Adobe Acrobat" from the context menu. The PDF opens in the Acrobat program.

Click the "Tools" option on the top navigation bar.

Click the "Advanced Editing" option on the Tools menu.

Click the "Touch Up Text" tool in the Advanced Editing menu.

Click inside the text to edit in the PDF. A bounding box appears.

Select the text to edit, using the cursor to highlight.

Type new text over the highlighted text. The text is edited in the PDF.
