How to Build an Easy Carport
A portable carport canopy is an easy alternative to the more expensive and permanent carport structures on the market. The portable carport provides protection from the elements for your vehicle, camper or other items such as firewood and landscaping equipment. Build your carport with supplies from your local home improvement store or hardware store. A canopy with anti-fungal and UV protection will keep your carport in good condition for seasons to come. Things You'll Need
- Connector fittings
- Frame tubing
- Canopy with anti-fungal and UV treatments
- Bungee cords
- Stakes

Decide how large you want your carport to be and purchase the necessary lengths of tubing.

Spread out all of your materials on the ground where you want to construct your carport. Separate the tubing for the roof frame from the tubing for the carport legs.

Slide the roof frame together with the connector fittings. Face the anchor washer on the connector fittings toward the inside of the structure, and keep the straight side parallel to the ground. The curved portion of the connector fitting connects up to the roof and down to the carport leg.

Spread out your canopy over the carport roof frame. Strap the canopy to the frame with bungee cords, beginning with the corners.

Slide the carport legs into the connector fittings on one side of the roof frame. Repeat for the opposite side.

Secure the carport with stakes at each frame leg.
