The Handycam is a brand of digital video camcorder manufactured by Sony. The camera contains a hard disc drive (HDD) for storing digital video recordings. Depending on your model, you can connect a Sony Handycam to a computer for editing videos or to a TV for viewing them, using standard audio-video cables supplied with the camera. Use the USB cable to stream video to a computer or an HDMI (high definition media interface) cable for streaming to a television. Both cables come with the Handycam, but if yours is missing you can buy a cable at electronics and computer stores.
Things You'll Need

Connect the audio video cable to the appropriate port on the left side of the Handycam and hook up the other end to the matching jack (USB) on your computer or (HDMI) on your TV.
Turn on the camcorder and the device connected to it. Push the video/input button on a TV remote control when the Handycam is connected to a television. This sets the TV to the video jack that connects it to the Handycam.
Set the Handycam for playback using the push-button control on the left side of the camera body below the tilt-out LCD screen.
Press the up or down arrow keys on the Handycam to scroll through the list of digital video files displayed on the camera's LCD screen. Highlight the selected file and press 'Play" to view the streaming video on the connected device.
